City of Del Rio issued the following announcement on April 06.
Val Verde Regional Medical Center has confirmed a sixth case of COVID-19 in Val Verde County. The sixth reported case is confirmed to be travel-related within the United States. The individual has been transferred to San Antonio for care.
The patient tested on March 30, 2020 and has been self-quarantined since March 23, 2020. All five previous confirmed COVID-19 patients have been confirmed as recovered by the State. State confirmed cases in Val Verde County at a glance: March 24, 2020-
First confirmed case – international travel related March 26, 2020- Second confirmed case – international travel related March 27, 2020 – Third confirmed case – community spread related March 27, 2020- Fourth confirmed case – international travel related March 28, 2020- Fifth confirmed case – travel related within the US It is imperative that our community remains home if they are able.
