Sul Ross University issued the following announcement on June 26.
Lobo Family:
Due to the current increase in COVID-19 cases across the state and in the Sul Ross State University area we are delaying the reopening of our campuses. Campuses will open Monday, July 13, 2020.
For those that are currently approved to work from home, please continue to do so. For those that need to come to campus, check the flex schedule with your supervisor to make sure as few people are in the office as possible. Additionally, for those coming to any Sul Ross campus, a mandatory mask policy will be in place starting Monday, June 29. Masks should be worn at all times in public spaces. Those under two and anyone who has trouble breathing are not required to wear one.
Remember, if you have tested positive, or if you have been in contact with a known positive case, showing symptoms or have good reason to believe you may have contracted COVID-19- report to your supervisor and stay home. We are still operating under COVID leave policy and supervisors have been directed to work with employees. These are unprecedented times and we must all do our part to combat the virus, while taking care of our loved ones and making sure SRSU is responsive to our faculty, staff, and students.
If you haven’t heard it enough- the best practices to prevent the spread are: washing your hands regularly with soap and warm water, wearing a face covering, maintaining social distance of six feet and covering your mouth/nose when you sneeze and cough.
Stay safe & enjoy the weekend!
