Cowboy Connect, a new transit system for Atascosa County, is operating in the cities of Jourdanton, Poteet and Pleasanton.
"Cowboy Connect is officially up and running, and we’re excited to continue serving your communities," the Alamo Area Council of Governments (AACOG) said on Facebook. "Please refer to the maps along with our website for a list of current stops, and comment below with your Top 3 places that aren’t covered in this route so far."
The new Alamo Regional Transit system will add routes at an affordable price to all residents of the three communities, according to AACOG.
"Cowboy Connect is a time point transit system that will follow a set route connecting the cities, but can also deviate up to a half-mile to include those who may not be able to get to the route. This hour-long loop will connect Jourdanton and Pleasanton from residences to places of employment, county offices, retail centers, and much more," according to AACOG.
The bus schedule will depart Jourdanton Housing Authority at 7 a.m. to noon and 1-5 p.m. on weekdays. The regular fare is $1, students and seniors will pay $0.50, and the ride is free for first responders and military members in uniform.
