Pleasanton Independent School District issued the following announcement.
Dear Pleasanton Eagle Fans,
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this unprecedented time for our PISD student-athletes. As we continue on with this new “normal” together, I wanted to provide some additional information regarding our athletic events and response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Most importantly, on behalf of our entire PISD athletics department, I hope that you and your families are safe and healthy. Please allow me to be among the many to encourage you to practice social distancing and adhere to the CDC health and safety guidelines. All of us in the Eagle Family are counting on each other to do our part in defeating our newest opponent, COVID-19.
Second, I would like to share some of the steps we have taken to ensure that the safety of our student-athletes are met, and that we continue to make every effort to keep our programs going. We want our seasons just as much as you do. Our athletic department continues to operate resourcefully and effectively knowing that these steps will assist in our fight to continue to compete.

The UIL has created a website that contains useful information, additional resources, and FAQs related to COVID-19. I encourage you to bookmark it and check it regularly for the latest updates: https://www.uiltexas.org/covid-19-information .
I have been so inspired by our department’s collective response to this crisis. There are countless examples of staff that have selflessly committed themselves to the success and well-being of our student-athletes and their programs.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to us if we can be helpful with absolutely anything at all. In these uncertain times, we are especially grateful to have dedicated members like you in our Eagle Family.
PRIDE, PRIDE, EAGLE PRIDE!
