Carrizo Springs CISD Education: 1,923 students were enrolled in schools in 2021-22 school year

There were 1,923 students enrolled in Carrizo Springs CISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 6.9% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 50.8% of them were boys, and 49.2% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 95% of the Carrizo Springs CISD total enrollment.

Carrizo Springs CISD roughly covers schools within Dimmit County with its main office in Carrizo Springs.

Among the four schools in Carrizo Springs CISD, Carrizo Springs Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 616 students in the 2021-22 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
