There were 3,384 students enrolled in Pleasanton ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2022-23 school year, 52.3% of them were boys, and 47.7% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 72.2% of the Pleasanton ISD total enrollment.

Pleasanton ISD roughly covers schools within Atascosa County with its main office in Pleasanton.

Among the six schools in Pleasanton ISD, Pleasanton Elementary School recorded the highest enrollment of 958 students in the 2022-23 school year.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

"The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students... dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools... gun violence, and mental health issues," claimed the Texas Almanac.
