There were six Asian students enrolled in Jourdanton ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 50% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Jourdanton ISD schools welcomed 1,590 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Asian students comprised 0.4% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Jourdanton ISD roughly covers schools within Atascosa County and has a main office in Jourdanton.

Among the seven schools in Jourdanton ISD schools, Jourdanton High School recorded the highest enrollment of Asian students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of two students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
