There were two Pacific Islander students enrolled in Eagle PASS ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, the same number as the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Eagle PASS ISD schools welcomed 13,935 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Pacific Islander students comprised 0% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Eagle PASS ISD roughly covers schools within Maverick County and has a main office in Eagle Pass.

Among the 24 schools in Eagle PASS ISD schools, C. C. Winn High School recorded the highest enrollment of Pacific Islander students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of one student.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
