Enrollment Analysis: white students comprised 56.4% of Mcmullen County ISD schools' student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 159 white students enrolled in Mcmullen County ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.6% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Mcmullen County ISD schools welcomed 282 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, white students comprised 56.4% of the student body to be one of the most represented ethnicities in the district.

Mcmullen County ISD roughly covers schools within McMullen County and has a main office in Tilden.

McMullen County School was the only school in the district which enrolled white students, welcoming 159 students in the 2022-23 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
