Two propositions related to the issuance of school building bonds for the McMullen County ISD have been approved by voters.
Proposition A and Proposition B were both approved with 53% of the vote, according to the unofficial results of the 2020 General Election posted on McMullen County’s website.
Proposition A provides $14.5 million to construct, acquire, renovate, improve and equip a school building, as well as the purchase new school buses and necessary sites for a school building. Proposition B authorizes $1.5 million in school building bonds to construct, acquire, renovate, improve and equip housing for teachers necessary to have a sufficient number of teachers for the district.
Both measures would result in a property tax increase for voters within the McMullen County ISD.
The majority of the votes for both propositions were cast during early voting, followed by Election Day and absentee voting.
