133 gifted and talented students were taught in Dimmit County schools in the 2021-2022 school year

Test 13

Dimmit County schools enrolled 133 students who were identified as being gifted and talented during the 2021-2022 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

This is a 16.4% decrease from the previous school year.

Of the 1,923 students enrolled in Dimmit County schools, 6.9% of them were considered to be gifted and talented.

Dimmit County enrolled the 146th highest number of gifted and talented students among Texas counties.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
